I have been in the housing industry for exactly thirty years and eight months. I have experienced two-and-a-half economic recessions in the housing industry.

During the late seventies, I experienced double-digit prime lending rates. Can you imagine what a prime rate of 19% or 20% would do to your career?

In the mid eighties, oil embargos and the devaluation of foreign currencies had their dramatic affect on the housing industry. And the half-recession took place in the late 90’s. I don’t even want to speculate what the cause of that was.

Through all of those valleys of economic times, my companies thrived in new home sales and real estate development. When I look back at those turbulent times, my companies actually experienced growth in sales and market share. It’s weird to think of it now, but I am more than willing to share with you the lessons I learned. In fact, my belief is, “I made and you can too.”

“YOU ARE THE ANSWER” is a personal belief system. A personal belief system is defined as that idea or concept you hold as truth. For example, you probably believe that when you throw a basketball up in the air, gravity will eventually pull it back down. That belief is based on your personal historical reference. Every time you have thrown a basketball in the air, it has eventually come back down to the ground. It is your truth, right?
